The television does not provide much news on the riots lately so we can only find whats going on from the internet...

Riots Escalate on Dec 18th
Today the peaceful demonstrations in Athens became violent riots (again) after the police drowned Athens in tear gas suffocating literary everyone...protester or not. The police riot squads drove the rioters away from the Greek Parliment, and toward Eleftheriou Venizelou st., and then after one hour of fighting, inside the Athens Law school where the rioters barricaded and fought the police with rocks and Molotov's.
One hour later the fights moved to a central street of Athens, Akadimias street, near the Law school. At the open space of Akadimias st. the riot squads were attacked from two sides. From the main body of the rioters, as well as people appearing to be civilians and standing behind the riot squads. The squads found their units surrounded and called for backup. New units appeared and rounded the protesters not taking part in the riots in case rioters were hiding among them. At that time people from the protesters went to the riot squad officers and asked them to "stand down" and stop throwing chemicals to their "brothers". Told them that we are all in the same bad situation, and we should not be fighting each other on behalf of a corrupt government. The speech went on for a long time in a loud tone for all to hear, possibly trying to affect the moral of the officers. I do not know if that had any effect, but I think individually to some officers it could have.
Eventually, at about 7.00p.m, the riot squads left to regroup, leaving the streets to the protesters and rioters. Things cooled off and the rioters started preparing for the next assault.
To be continued...
There was a very big hush by the media on this today. The main reason I went there my self, was because when I opened my television in the morning I saw absolutely nothing!

"Zardiniera" Case
Verdict came out for the "Zardiniera" case, and the cops (killer-wannabes) were only fined 5 euro per day for beating a student from Cyprus 2 years ago for no reason. When asked initially they said the student fell on a flower pot and hurt him self thus the case was named "Zardiniera" witch means flower pot in Greek...
See the beating of the student here:

National Television Protest(ERT)
People went live on television during the 3 o clock news holding a big plank writing: STOP WATCHING - GET OUT ON THE STREETS !!!

ERT belongs to the Greek people and it should be not used only for propaganda by the corrupt Greek government.
More photos of the Athens Riots coming soon. I heard there is a big protest on the 17th of Dec. Will be there ...
